The East-West Science Center is a unit of the Department of Physics in the college of computer, Mathematical and Physical Sciences of the University of Maryland at College Park. It is dedicated to the promotion of international cooperation in space sciences by making available to the United States and the State of Maryland the best scientific and technical capabilities of the Former Soviet Union
 

Lunar Exploration Neutron Detector (LEND) 

   Lunar Exploration Neutron Detector (LEND) will fly on the board of NASA Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) mission which launch is expected in late 2008. LEND’s objective is to provide the global search of hydrogen distribution through 1-2 meters of lunar subsurface from 50 km circular polar orbit of LRO. click here for more
